Pepsi Re-Branding: Good Move or Mistake?

It’s always a bit shocking to hear about these $1 million plus logo designs, not to mention the few hundred million dollars that might go into actually replacing the logo everywhere it appears. I have to say, the 1898 version of the logo is pretty cool in a Tim Burton kind of way, and I like the way the design has been updated over the years. The newest version, however, is quite nice… it definitely keeps with the brand and makes me think “Pepsi” even without the text, and the typeface feels very current with that slight “techie” feel they’ve used in the past.
